Seminar on the Millennium Development Goals
By the Maltese NGDO Platform, in collaboration with StoPoverty!, Kopin and Global Action Schools

The 17th of October, which is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the Maltese NGDO Platform, in collaboration with StoPoverty!, Kopin and Global Action Schools, is organising the first National Seminar on the Millennium Development Goals.  This will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m..
Further details click here to download poster.  One can also contact Clayton Mercieca at claytonmercieca@gmail.com for further information.
Registration is at the door and for those who cannot make it full day, it also possible to attend parts, since it is a multi item seminar.  Free finger food and fair trade coffee will also be served.

Closely linked with this same initiative is the Stand Up - where the organisers of the first National  MDG Seminar  are appealing to all organisations, workplaces and schools to perform a one-minute STAND UP (on the 16th or the `17th of October) as a sign of urgency to eliminate the violations of Human Rights and Extreme Poverty around the World. All one has to do is literally stand-up as a group for one-minute and then text the number of people standing up and from which organisation/workplace/school to 79842015 or  by email:
standupmalta@gmail.com . You can email a photo as well and/or a message.
The sms's of standups will be shown during the 17th October MDG Conference being held in MCC.  The Maltese number of people standing up will be added to that of other National Global Call to Action Against Poverty platforms, and hopefully help achieve a worldwide  record number of people standing up to demand that poverty eradication and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals be a political priority.
